Hey Everyone! May was an amazing month with lots of successful fundraising. With the launch of the Virtual Step Challenge over Memorial Day Weekend, we were able to raise $1,400 for the Save The Children Organization! Thank you to those of you who participated! Not only did we raise $1,400 in May, but we hit the $10,000 mark for Running To The Rescue! This is a goal that we've been trying to hit for a while now, and it feels great to finally reach it.

I've been brainstorming lots of new fundraising ideas for the next couple weeks and can't wait to officially announce them! In the meantime, stay safe, healthy, and tuned for more info on some epic challenges!

Unfortunately, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Ice Cream Fun Run has been cancelled. More information on whether I will be able to post-pone the race will be known in the next few months. In the meantime, I am starting a new challenge to raise money during the shelter in place! It's pretty simple- you run 5 kilometers (3.1 miles), donate $5 to my fundraiser, and then nominate 5 other people! You can nominate people on Instagram, by text, email, etc. It's a great way to get moving while helping donate to a wonderful cause!

Another great way you can help raise money during the shelter in place is through the Charity Miles App. Download the app, choose Save The Children as you organization, and join team Running To The Rescue! You can track your walks, runs, and bike rides directly from the app on your phone or you can connect Strava to automatically upload mileage from your watch.

With all of this amazing money raised. I was wondering if your employer will match the donations raised from this year's summer camp. It would mean soooo much. Please email me at rescuerunning33@gmail.com if you're interested. Also, upcoming on August 25 I'll be partnering with Athleta to help spread the word about their Race For The Planet campaign. We will be doing a run from the store and there will be beverages and snacks in store! Stay tuned for more info on the event!

Woohoo! We made it through another successful week of Running To The Rescue Summer Camp! This year we ended up raising $1,042 for Save the Children Organization... that's over $200 more than last year. It was four days of solid fun with some awesome kids who were really excited that just simply attending the camp was helping kids all over the world who suffer from disease, hunger, lack of education, and lack of water. Michael, a very outgoing boy stated, "It makes me feel good that I'm helping kids." It was these words that inspired me to scratch the activities I had planned for the following day and instead, set up a lemonade stand with the kids of the camp in downtown Sausalito to raise even more money for Save The Children! I baked some brownies and put together some lemonade and we ended up selling out of everything we had. We raised a solid $77!

Wow! It's already July! We are two thirds of the way through summer and so much has happened with Running To The Rescue!

We started off the month with camp Running To The Rescue where I got to teach kids from all over Marin County about what it means to be a leader. With the help of a friend, we raised $860 just from this one week of camp! We did water balloon fights, had an ice cream party, and did lots of games and activities that built teamwork and leadership skills. This was the second successful camp of the summer, in June we raised $1,000 from another Running To The Rescue leadership camp.

Another fun thing to look forward to is Running To The Rescue's new logo! With the help of some friends I was able to complete a simple, but explanatory logo. The logo symbolises someone "Running To The Rescue" to help children in need all over the world who are suffering from disease, hunger, thirst, and lack of education.
